Perpetua est Spirituum Magnificare

Image
Perpetua est Spirituum Magnificare Spirit is not static, and is without fixed location or destination after departing the body. Immediately upon death, when my Spirit first exited my dead corpse there was brief confusion but without any sense of anxiety as one might expect in those moments. I didn’t initially know my body had died. I was confused, disoriented and uncertain even of my own identify. I felt as if I should be the person called Artorias but without the body of Artorias, how could that be so? Despite my disorientation, I was overwhelmed with a sense of wellness. There were no pains of the plague which had just taken me. There was also however, no sense of physical comfort as I’d had from the blankets that warmed my shivering body just moments earlier. There was a much more powerful sense of non physical comfort however and I then realized I was beyond all physical sensations whatsoever. I would never again be hot or cold. Nor would I know hunger, thirst, fever or pa

Conflictus Spiritus

Image
Conflictus Spiritus There is conflict woven by our Creator into the heart of our species. For at our simplest essence we are creatures of both immortal Spirit and dying flesh. We are opposites created as one and there is struggle between the two. In an age yet to come the conflict shall be resolved and being immortal, it is Spirit that shall emerge triumphant. No one, save God the Creator knows when that age shall arrive but it is my faithful belief that it is yet distant. Whilst alive in the flesh nearly 1600 years past, I know there were those who believed the last age was then imminent. Centuries before my time there were many who believed the last age was already upon them and in your own current age there are even more who believe these to be the end of days. For it has always been the vanity of men to believe that our own age is the most tumultuous, the most important and in many cases, the last of all ages. The last age is the time of the final triumph of Spirit over fl

Et Exitus Spirituum

Et Exitus Spirituum There is error to our understanding of Spirit’s departure from the flesh at the moment of death. Spirit does not float upward from the body toward some distant heavenly destination as many have come to believe. For heaven encompasses the entirety of the cosmos and is without any fixed of finite location. At the moment of my bodily death all containment of Spirit within my flesh was suddenly breached. My Spirit then seemed to expand outward, through my dead corpse into the immediate surroundings of my sickbed. There was no particular direction of departure but something more akin to a rapid diffusion of Spirit in all directions simultaneously. This much I know with all certainty, although my Spirit had been largely contained within my flesh, it was not contained because of any innate power of flesh over Spirit. For the nature of Spirit is immaterial and immortal, and cannot be contained by anything which is material or mortal. Flesh is weak and can never con

Spiritus Immortalem Artorias

Image
Spiritus Immortalem Artorias I was born in 451 AD and whilst alive in the flesh lived humbly as the son of a Roman tentmaker until my death by plague at the age of eleven. Released from the flesh as a creature of Spirit, my first experience was to witness the grief of my beloved mother, who overcome with anguish, embraced my infected corpse and succumbed herself to the disease within the same week. My father, a good man, abandoned her with great remorse on the third day of her suffering, thinking to save my remaining brother from our infectious home by going to live with our uncle. Their own infection was already in it’s infancy though and neither my father nor my brother survived the six day journey. This was the end of my lineage in flesh. I endured no grief at the and death of my family however, for I had become a creature of Eternal Spirit. As such, I knew the suffering of the disease to be a mere speck of carnal discomfort preceding the unfathomable bliss of timeless eter
