Causa Homini Dei Creando

Causa Homini Dei Creando
There is purpose to the making of our species, written in the oracles of Isaiah that the purpose of man is to give glory to God. Through faith is this done, each man to his best degree for by prayer, grace and good works can our God be glorified by each individual. But as one who now dwells in the host of heaven I know these things are only first steps which lead to a truer glorification of our God. For whilst alive in the flesh we serve as conduits of God, vessels through which is Spirit more fully enters the material realm. This is the glorification of God as spoken of by the prophet.
As a child I was taught correctly that God is everywhere, for his Spirit saturates the cosmos and penetrates all flesh and all matter. God does not need our species to achieve presence in the material realm but the presence which God already has is made greater when thoughtfully chosen by a sentient species such as our own. For the unthinking cosmos are passive and unable to know the Spirit of God, nor embrace or resist his presence. Nor is our flesh able to resist, for the Spirit of God is immaterial and penetrates all forms of matter. But we are more than mere flesh, gifted by God with a Spirit greater than the beasts of the earth. For the Spirit of man does more than just animate our flesh with life for a brief time. The Spirit of man is sentient and contemplative, capable of thoughtful reason and choice. By these gifts are we capable of knowing our Creator, learning his will and embracing or resisting his ways. And through this process, carried out through hundreds of generations has our species evolved to glorify God by intelligent choice, even through our worst inclinations and most stiff-necked resistance.
For we are tempted of fleshy concerns and falter both individually and as a species, always suffering the evils of our mistaken ways. The greed of our species, born of the constant needs and desires of the flesh gave birth to the great wars we have suffered and wrought oppression and starvation upon the weak. But these are a process in the ongoing creation of our species and the evils of our failings have served to teach us the foolishness of our ways. For by the design of our Creator, the vanity of flesh shall lead to a wisdom of Spirit, and that Spirit is God. Be not overcome by cynicism concerning our species. For the current generations of your time are more charitable and gracious with one another than the generations of my age and generations yet unborn shall be still greater than you. Be still and know your God, know that the creation of our species is yet ongoing, and though old by the temporal standards of mortal men, is new by the eternal standards of the timeless God.
We were made to glorify our Creator by rising above the carnal needs and wants of our flesh, embracing the ways of peace, charity and grace. By the will of God shall this be accomplished and as this occurs, so shall we ourselves become more akin to our God. For it is his living Word that we glorify his eternal name and the Word of God cannot return to him unaccomplished.
